super bowl 2023 TEASER

It was January 2023, weeks before the Super Bowl, when another creative team told us they were “probably” going to be making a Super Bowl commercial.
”This late in the game!?!” we thought. (no pun intended)
All we were told is, “It’s a wholesome, feel-good spot about a family and their dog.”
That’s it. We never saw the spot.
The ask was for us to come up with a teaser leading up to the Super Bowl to peak public interest.

The first thought that came to mind was, “Why THAT dog? How did they land on THAT specific canine?”
Which made us wonder about all the dogs that didn’t make the cut.
So we wrote and shot a fictitious audition montage video, imagining what the casting process could’ve been like.
We even casted for a casting director, which was hilarious because what casting director wouldn’t want to see actors portraying casting directors?
On set, our directors, Nick & Charles of Funny or Die fame, boosted the comedy while being mindful of everyone’s allergies.
